Chelsea and I went to the same high school. As far as I can remember, she was always down to Earth and very chill. I have never heard her name mixed up in any drama, and till to this day. When I discovered her personality and vibe as “The Modern Day Goddess”, and having recently started my spiritual journey, I was instantly attracted. Everything about her aesthetic gives me life. It was truly a pleasure doing this interview. Love and light Chels!
- Thank you for agreeing to this interview. Blessings.
May you please introduce yourselves and/or your profession for those
who may not know who you are?
A pleasure to be a part of this interview Navy.
For those who may not know me, I am Chelsea Williams a Creative
Soul, reflecting that in my 3D as a Creative Marketing Strategist also
known as The Modern Day Goddess.
- What’s one little known fact about you that may come as a surprise to
people?
I have a twin. Lol.
GASP!

3. You’ve lived in and out of Dominica for quite some time respectively,
how has this shaped who you are?
This transition has been the epitome of shape shifting in the tapestry
of who I am continuously, consciously becoming. It has given me the opportunity to expand my entire life.
Experiencing life out of Dominica has allowed me to evolve at my true
Soul’s level. Now don’t get me wrong, I did not have the worst childhood or teenage years however, I naturally have a subtle rebellious Spirit. So being in Dominica I was not always in trouble, but when I WAS…. That ripple effect puts you in a chokehold. You’re
bound to learn and gain a few lifetimes of lessons out of just that one. So being able to live in and out of The Nature Isle, pretty much opened me up to a new balance in my life.
4. Were you raised to be of a certain religion and has that changed?
Though predominantly raised in a Catholic home, my family
is connected to people from different walks of life, so I have
always been in a position to experience other spiritual spaces
as a child. Which honestly has always kept my mind open
when it came down to Religion and different Spiritual Beliefs.
5. You give off a very calm and cool vibe whenever we meet and always
post about being in the flow of life. You’re also the Founder and CEO
of your brand: Modern Day Goddess. It involves Travel, Beauty,
Holistic Wellness and Canna-Tourism. I’d say we are speaking to a
pretty accomplished individual. Do you thank a higher power for your
success?
Why thank you Mel! They say “pressure buss pipes?” Or forms diamonds? Lol
Definitely giving thanks to a higher power but also to myself.
If I was not able to show myself the same grace and favor for my success in my life, I’d never truly believe that I would be worthy of the success I have achieved.

6. Can you share one experience where you knew that you were
absolutely and undoubtedly guided and connected to a higher power?
There are many instances when it came to the unfolding in the grand scheme of how things play out in my life, but one in particular happened 2 days before the quarantine phase of the covid pandemic.
At that time, I was focused on building success in my stability as a creative, so I began to pop up in creative spaces, be of service and network within the Houston creative community where I found the perfect Mentor and basically family to help me do so, Shelbi Nicole.
I met Shelbi when I volunteered on her latest Art Installation at the time, Whimsy World where her character and values immediately aligned with mine. I honestly was just truly
happy to be a part of something I am passionate about and creating groundbreaking experiences in the Art World. A few months passed since the Whimsy World Installation, and we were just about to enter the mandatory lock down phase of Covid, and it’s like my Spirit knew something was coming, but not I could have guessed that’s what it would’ve been. That day I was on my server shift, and the dining restaurant industry went ghost. No one was coming in, only to get orders and I was just in awe as I was seeing and experiencing these changes in real time. If anyone has been a server, you know that tips are where it’s at financially. That day I swore I cried and pleaded with God that “I just don’t wanna do this anymore.” That I needed a way out. The next morning, I had some time to myself before my closing shift and found myself scrolling on IG and saw Shelbi was working on a new art mural and I immediately messaged her and asked her if she needed any help, and just left it as that. I shot my shot and the very next day she responded! High and behold she in fact did need help and I could come that very morning! Your girl also had to go in as a server at that same time. I sat down on my bed, and I talked to God about it. We surely had to have a “reasoning” about this one because it required my faith in my decision. I can go paint and be happy, but possibly lose my job as a server because it would require me to call out, and they were already cutting hours due to the pandemic. Can you believe I got dressed and went in 20 mins before my server shift, spoke with a manager and told her what the situation was, and she let me go. Clearly my art clothes were already packed in my bag so I could go directly to be happy and enjoy painting the town. Next day and months after we went through the different lockdown phases. From who are essential workers and while everyone was quarantined, and had to be indoors, that leap of faith set me on a path to finding success in stability not only as a creative but within myself. Traveling around Texas, adding some upliftment and color to businesses and the lives of people. I’d say that was undoubtedly guidance by a higher power.
Did y’all catch “High and behold?” Haha This girl is something else.
7. What’s your favorite song and why?
I truly do not have one favorite song. There are so many
genres, lyrics and artists to reflect my many moods, no way
could I pick just one.
8. If you were to talk to a glass of water that you will then drink, what
would you tell it?
“You the sh*t girl!!” Lol
Hahaha! I’ll add that to my list of things I say to my water before drinking.
9. Though there is a slow change, Spirituality is not widely accepted on
the island, and even in the Caribbean region (Openly anyway). Were
you afraid or doubtful to let the public know where you stand on
spirituality and holistic wellness?
You know what? I actually felt liberated to share my spiritual and alternative holistic wellness journey with the public. Not for them, but more so me. It really stabilized me. Helped with my faith and confidence to not focus on what outsiders may see me as, because I KNOW ME.

10. How do your close friends and family feel about your choice of belief,
and has it affected business for you?
I’d say they love me, so they truly have no choice but to accept me for who I am. Lol
Seriously though, they 1st handedly know where I have been which has led to where I am today, so they have a deep understanding of my life choices. On the other hand, when it comes down to the business aspects of Modern Day Goddess it simply propelled and began to positively take hold.
11. Tell us about your role at MOCA. Are you enjoying it and did you
manifest it?
Someone get Michael on the phone. Lol. My role at MOCA | Modern Caribbean LLC | is a dream come true! I am blessed to say that I don’t have a specific “role”, as I
get to implement all my skills and talents within different facets of the company as we continue to grow. Did I manifest this opportunity? I’d say absolutely!
12. Do you have a vision board and if yes, can you share ONE thing
that’s on there and whether or not you have successfully manifested
it?
I actually don’t have a physical vision board. Have not done
one since 2021-2022. I’d say my current practice is more
through visualization meditations.

13. You’re a customer of my small business Mantraz Plant Nursery. God bless you sis! As a certified Feng Shui Practitioner, can you give a little insight on the best places to place your plants?
And such a happy and satisfied customer I am!
I always encourage people to include plants into their homes as it encourages a positive flow of chi which has considerable effects on our health, finances, happiness, relationships and overall, our wellbeing.
For example, the Peace Lily plant harbors good fortune, luck and creates A PLEASANT ENVIRONMENT in ANY room, as it’s an air purifier. Snake Plants are used to protect your space from low energy and are best placed at the entrance of your home. Cleanses any negative energy that one may come in with people from places outside our home.

14. Are you currently encountering, or have ever you encountered
any problems that are possibly unique to your spirituality?
I have not, since I see things more as a challenge, rather than
a problem.
15. Before you became who you are today, what were your views
on the spiritual beliefs that you now hold?
Honestly, because I was raised in the Caribbean, the spiritual teachings I now hold are things that were not talked about in our households openly. So, I never saw anyone in my family whip out a tarot deck like I would today, or crystals. It would be a bible or a rosary, so these are beliefs I grasped literally on my awakening journey.
Once again! This resonates with me! Even today for me as a professional reader, there are clients who hire me for readings and go the extra mile to ensure that no one knows about it. I am sworn to secrecy when it comes to my client’s business and I let them know that, but some are still so afraid of anyone else finding out that they’ve had a tarot reading.

16. You are a spiritual coach, certified Reiki and Feng Shui
Practitioner. When did you know that this was the path you wanted to
be on and was it a gentle or a rude awakening?
It was a WILD RIDE, and I felt no one would truly understand my journey. Yes we can share with others what we are experiencing while we awaken, but when it comes down to it all only you and God knows the whirlwinds of life you are currently in. This jump started me on a path to find healing remedies that kept me grounded, cool, calm and collected on my own. Plus, residing in the US as an island girl at heart, there were no clear blue waters or refreshing rivers and air.
I couldn’t replenish and cleanse my aura and be free, so I had to get creative and dig deeper into my healing. Plants made me feel better, art brought me peace and before I knew it, I realized the techniques I was doing were real things! Things I never learned, heard about or practiced in the Caribbean. Though now as I reflect, and remembering my mom at home, those were techniques she herself used. Placements of things that brought different elements of peace, love and safety in our home.
17. Is there any aspect to your belief you are particularly proud of?
why?
My faith! In society we are taught that seeing is believing, but what about trusting more in the things we don’t see? The things we feel deeply within the spirit?
I believe sometimes things require a certain level of trust from us, regardless of if it’s yet to be revealed to us.

18. What would you say to someone who tells you that they want to
be as enlightened and connected as you are?
Though enlightenment is a solo journey, we live in a society
now where you can seek Masters and Spiritual Guides you TRUST, who can assist you through your journey. It changes your life, so you have to be flexible and open to it (change.) Have no attachments and be open to the journey because what no
longer aligns with your spirit in your life, will dissipate from our life.
This resonates with me so much. You really have to be willing to let go! People, places, things, situations, memories, grudges, promises. We become totally new people and no longer identify or align with our past selves.
19. Describe your life in three words.
Beautiful. Balanced. Divine.
